Imagine you are surrounded by lush green meadows and fields. You came to this place via Dommitzsch via a cobbled road, past the farms, goats, horses... And then you see our white house, overgrown with green vines. The children play in the meadow, romp in the garden, dig in the sandbox and swing. The smell of delicious cakes wafts from the kitchen in the house while the grown-ups forget the time. When it comes to furnishing and fittings, we let ourselves be guided by the needs of both large and small people and incorporated as much as possible of what we ourselves want from accommodation. Our children called the house and garden our Bullerbü when they saw it for the first time, in memory of the much-loved books and because it came very close to what they imagined back then. We left it at that. Mahlitzsch is a great place to enjoy nature and spend quality time with family. Dommitzsch-Mahlitzsch is located near the border triangle of Saxony, Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt on the left bank of the Elbe in northern Saxony. The village is only about 15 minutes by car from Torgau and about 1 hour by car from Leipzig. It is a wonderfully sunny, quiet and cozy place on the southern slope of a small terminal moraine between the Düben Heath and the wide Elbe valley. There are chickens, sheep, horses, many cats, deer in the village and you can hike for hours directly from the edge of the village in the Dübener Heide, over the fields directly adjacent to the house or on the Elbe 3 km away. From the house you have a beautiful view of the garden. The nearby Elbradweg offers many opportunities for leisure activities. Easy bike tours on well-developed paths and roads without any significant gradients can be undertaken directly from the house. After a 10-minute walk you come to the natural forest pool behind the village. It is an idyllic bathing lake surrounded by forest and nature. The house has about 150 square meters of living space on two floors. There is a large common dining area, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, additional beds for small children, 2 additional sleeping places in the living room if required and a sauna. Up to 15 people can live well here. Our house was extensively renovated from 2014-2018 and is nestled between fields and meadows. On the ground floor there is a large dining area with adjoining living area, an open kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms and a small lounge area. The bathrooms have underfloor heating, one bathroom has an open shower. A 2000 square meter garden invites you to explore; because something is always blooming. You can unwind, play, grill, make a fire... Many herbs, which grow mainly in the kitchen garden, or fruits, like our wine, can be nibbled and nibbled at the house. The house is well suited for couples, but especially for larger groups such as hiking groups, wellness vacationers, city breaks, trade fair visitors, family reunions, year-end retreats, project work, company meetings, summer vacations, short trips, relaxation - and the combination is often appealing. Not only in summer, but also in all other seasons, the immediate area has its own special charm. A quiet autumn day in the forest, a winter evening in the sauna, a spring hike along the blooming pear trees on the way to Dommitzsch or a summer windmill trip to the Elbe are our city escapes.
